» Project Background

The EU-Andean Trade Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) relates to the negotiations of the Trade Part of the Association Agreement to be negotiated between the European Community and Andean regional countries. The countries covered by the study will include Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Trade SIAs assess the potential impacts of proposed liberalisation on all pillars of sustainable development in order to help optimise policy decision-making. Consultation with key stakeholders in Europe and Andean countries is an important component throughout the SIA.
